Becomes the first ever remittance brand to win the Gold Award

Earlier today, the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai announced the winners of the Business Excellence Awards 2015 during a glittering ceremony held at Dubai World Trade Centre.

During the event, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, presented the coveted Dubai Quality Gold Award to UAE Exchange, the leading global remittance, foreign exchange and payment solutions brand.

In the 22 years since the launch of the Dubai Quality Awards, UAE Exchange becomes the first ever remittance brand to win the Dubai Quality Gold Award (DQGA). The Gold Award highlights the brand’s success in catalysing steady improvements towards organisational and business excellence.

“We are very proud to be the first remittance brand to have won the Dubai Quality Gold Award. It is a coveted award and a top honour, given the fact that the criteria are very stringent and expected performance standards are extremely high," said Dr. B. R. Shetty, Chairman, UAE Exchange Group. "This is indeed very special to us as it recognises the success of our robust continuous improvement programmes, put in place to facilitate our journey to excellence," he further added.

In a statement released by the organisation, UAE Exchange thanked their customers, partners, regulators, well-wishers and the Government of Dubai, for inspiring the brand. Dr. Shetty noted, “It is the quest for excellence, the endeavour to go that extra mile and the passion to be always one step closer to our customers and partners that is the driving force for achieving optimum quality across our worldwide operations for the last 35 years.”

The Gold Award comes as a result of a stringent long-term programme of business excellence in UAE Exchange. The brand holds the ISO 9001 certification for Quality Management System, ISO 14001 for Environment Management System, ISO 27001 for Information Security System and TISSE 2012 for Service Excellence. Various quality tools, policies and procedures have been implemented to improve the organisational performance in a transparent fashion. Regular feedback is solicited from stakeholders including customers, partners, employees and the society through perception studies to improve processes and products.

The Dubai Quality Award is a framework for organisational excellence that looks at how a company’s initiatives and structures pull together in desired directions. The award’s methodology is based on the Excellence Model used by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). It confers the ‘Gold’ status to only those organisations who have won the Dubai Quality Award (DQA) and who demonstrate continual, tangible and sustained performance improvements.
